Christmas started as a commemoration of Christ's birth, but in this special holiday edition of Pot Pie, don't expect HOLYCHILD singer Liz Nistico to bust out "Joy to the World." Rather, the artist behind the feminist sex anthem "Bathroom Bitch" prefers the Joy crafted by Mood33. The infused beverage, made with yerba mate leaves, fresh peppermint and dried lemon peel, can serve as a vodka replacement, and chef-host Brandin LaShea welcomes Nistico with a Mood33 Moscow Mule. The duo then proceed to make munchies-ready Christmas butter cookies.
While decorating one of their blessed baked goods, Nistico jokes, "I'm trying to make something for the Louvre," to which LaShea laughs, "It looks like a Halloween cookie."

"Do we do a sip, sip, pass?" jokes Ester Steinberg as she enjoys an infused Mood33 beverage. The cannabis leaf-wearing actress-comedian (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel) actually seems high already when she joins chef-host Brandin LaShea in the Pot Pie kitchen to make shakshuka. Several cultures in the Mediterranean and Middle East lay claim to the original tomato-based stew, and the dish Ester calls "SHAKSHUKA!!" is one of the hottest breakfast dishes in Israel. Lindsay Ames, comedian and host of the Los Angeles-based reading series My Diary, joins Brandin LaShea with some upsetting ingredients (“I know,” she says as she pulls out a can of asparagus, “it sounds… just trust me”) for what the rightfully skeptical host says “feels like [it’s] suddenly a food drive.”
Watch as the two make the most of a can of mushroom soup and “depression cheese” (note: any cheese is depression cheese if you’re sad enough) to put together an egg and asparagus casserole. “It sounds disgusting,” Lindsay says of her father’s childhood recipe, “but it’s amazing.” Brandin preps for the meal with some much-needed all-natural drinks from Mood33, explaining: “To eat this, I’m gonna need to be super baked.”

Italy is famous for food and fashion, but when Marta Goldschmied visited the Pot Pie kitchen, the Italian designer hilariously showed she's better with fashion than, say, grating cheese. Marta admittedly struggled to help chef-host Brandin LaShea make mac 'n' cheese, but pairing the experience with infused Mood33beverages clearly elevated the kitchen and made for the tastiest mac 'n' cheese ever.

In this episode of Pot Pie, host Brandin LaShea welcomes comedian Simon Gibson and his blue bag of surprise “stuff” he grabbed at Vons the night before taping. “Honestly,” he says as he pulls out some hummus, “I was hammered last night.”
After chugging a bottle of Mood33’s THC- and CBD-infused sparkling tonics, Brandin and Simon are ready to whip together this mystery meal. “I think in my mind I had some vision of a cold noodle salad,” Simon explains before sharing his hotter-than-cold-noodles takes on fast food. (I’m with you, man—In-N-Out is not good. Sorry not sorry.)
Simon decides he won’t chug another Mood33 drink before doing exactly that and then comparing the hummus-glazed cold noodles Brandin has plated and topped with green onions to "the new Avengers.” His drunken intuition, paired with Brandin’s finely honed culinary skills, definitely ends up not leading the pair astray as they demonstrate how to easily make a yummy dinner out of back-of-the-fridge ingredients.

Pot Pie host Brandin LaShea is joined by comedian and actor Luis Jimenez and a bag full of ingredients to make bistec empanizado (“Which is a fancy way to say country-fried steak for Cubans,” Luis explains). Before embarking on the task at hand, Brandin and Luis take sips of some 10mg Mood33 infused cannabis beverages out of a twist-top bottle that, Luis jokes, “opens up just like my NyQuil.”
The comedian demonstrates why he doesn’t usually dance while Brandin tenderizes the steak and explains the benefits of cooking beef in citric acid. Covering a stovetop griddle in enough oil to cause a two-alarm grease fire, Luis and Brandin sizzle the breaded beef alongside some onions, which get placed on top of the finished fried steak before the pair chow down.

CEO and founder of Paragon (and 2014 Miss Iowa) Jess VerSteeg joins Brandin LaShea onPot Pieto make a simple, healthy snack: organic veggie quesadillas. “I eat kinda unhealthy,” Jess jokes, “But it’s organic. Like if it’s cookies, it’s organic. You know? It makes you feel better.”
Brandin and Jess take sips from a couple of Mood33 infused sparkling tonics in preparation for some labor-intensive avocado mashing. “I think I might open my own restaurant now,” says a guacamole-making Jess. As the two chop up vegetables, Jess tells Brandin about the origins of her cannabis blockchain company and how a cannabis subscription service led to the opening of the cannabis co-working officeParagonSpace.
“Isn’t it funny, when you’re high, how much more of a catastrophe everything turns out to be?” Brandin asks before Jess tries not to grate plastic wrap into a bowl along with the cheese. Disaster is largely averted, and the two sit down for a heady, vitamin-filled meal that you can easily whip up at home.
Pot Pie | Brandin LaShea Feat. Rob Fee
Pot Pie director and comedian Rob Fee is in the kitchen with Brandin LaShea filling in for a guest who ghosted and left behind a bag of mystery ingredients. “She’s a DJ,” Rob says, “I’m assuming it’s molly, glowsticks and a Deadmau5 outfit—is it Deadmaus, or Deadmau? I don’t care.”
The contents of the bag confound the pair, and they decide to take a break and think about what to make while drinking some Mood33 infused sparkling tonics. “I’m not as aggro as I would be because I’m sippin’ on a calm drink,” Brandin tells Rob.
Our intrepid host decides to put together a ciabatta open-faced breakfast sandwich with smoked salmon.
She commiserates with Rob about how kids just curse too much these days, while the director does his best at sous chef duties—not bad, considering he thinks avocado pits are called “walnuts.”
“I love that you’re trusting me to cut everything,” admits Rob before telling Brandin about how he got into comedy and directing. The two plate their creation and enjoy the sandwiches with some more Mood33 drinks.
